It’s a medium Gotham that’s been tweaked with rounded corners and the designer changed the dot on top of the “i” with a circle instead of a square. The Spotify logo typeface is a tweaked version of Tobias Frere-Jones’ Gotham. Spotify wanted to address that issue in the new redesign. People were using the app icon as the logo because they didn’t know what the primary logo was. The old logo version was cleaned up and is now one piece, which was a problem with the old logo. Spotify wanted to be perceived as easy, personal and fun and the new logo matches all those criteria.
